French metallers SCARVE have recruited Swedish vocalist Lawrence Mackrory (ex-DARKANE) to sing on their upcoming album, tentatively due in March 2007 via Listenable Records. Lawrence, who is currently active in several projects, including the "fantabulously moshoholic" F.K.Ü., did an "amazing" job on the new CD, but apparently has no intentions of joining SCARVE as a permanent replacement for Guillaume Bideau, who left the group earlier in the year to front the Danish metal band MNEMIC.

The follow-up to 2004's "Irradiant" was recorded at the Dug-Out facility in Uppsala, Sweden and will work with renowned Swedish producer Daniel Bergstrand, whose previous credits include MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and STUCK MOJO.

Bideau joined SCARVE in November 1998 and performed on all three of the band's albums: "Transluscence" (2000), "Luminiferous" (2002) and "Irradiant" (2004).

My question is this. Is this the singer of Darkane who was w/ them when they toured last halloween w/ SYL, IDT, and FF? Or is this a former singer before the current one?

Lawrence did the vocals on their first album, Rusted Angel.  He was actually working at the studio where they recorded the album, and the producer/owner/whatever suggested that he take a shot at the vocal tracks since they didn't have a vocalist at the time.  Speed Strid actually did vocals on some of their early compilation/sampler recordings.

Lawrence Mackrory is one of my favorite metal vocalists, even though I've only heard him on Rusted Angel, and I really wish he would have stayed in Darkane.  Oddly enough, Peter Wildoer (Darkane drummer) is a good vocalist as well, so for studio purposes only, I'm sure he could have done just fine.
