This is awesome news and long overdue!  If ever a band needed more instrumentation this is it.  I can't wait to hear the additions!

Woh... cool... Clearly our modest acoustic night has been transformed into something a bit more significant.

I'm like Folkerts and scared of change, but I'm excited to hear what's in store...

Writing... but willing to do some shows...

I definitely wouldn't agree that "If ever a band needed more instrumentation this is it".  I think that some of the charm of Casanatra comes from it's simplicity of instrumentation. To me, its sort of like you have the essential ingredients that are needed to produce the type of music that we have all come to love, so why add more filler to distract people from the core?

That being said, I'm pretty sure that any additions to the band would have passed the Casanatra rigourous standards, and I'm sure they won't be "filler".  So I am still excited to hear what comes out of the change, but will probably listen with some initial skepticism (I know, I know.  I'm dissapointed in me too).

I'm gonna be pissed if it's a bass player.

I think I'll make it out to this one.

Ha! I heard that Meg White chocked on the Conan show.  Anyone see that performance.  Some sort of anxiety attack or something?

Also, +1 on the Casanatra does not need a bass player train.

Well, I'm not speculating, but bass would be the vegas-recommended guess...

I should note that the first band tonight (The Chord and the Fawn) features a kickass ukelele, so I'm open to surprises.

Writing... but willing to do some shows...

There has been a whole lot of typing on here...but who is actually going to the show?

My close female friends are either pregnant, married, or drunk sluts. All of which means they aren't going out with me tonight.

There is a previous thread about this show, but the lineup tonight at Big V's is:

9:00: The Chord and the Fawn (two girls, playing and singing... www.myspace.com/thechordandthefawn)

10:00 Bad Sleep Well (that's my half-acoustic-half-electric band... www.myspace.com/badsleepwellmpls)

11:00 The Casanatra trio

12:00 Brian Larson (of seconds before): Brian is playing solo acoustic and will be damn happy to play for you all.

___

The reason why Casanatra is playing in this acoustic sandwich is because Dennis initially was going to play solo himeslf.  Then, after thinking about, they decided to melt our faces with the whole unit...

Come come...

I will be at the show.  Even though I hate St. Paul and hate Big V's.
