That bass is totally ridiculous... but your new bass is pretty rad. That's a great idea, fretting only halfway up the neck. I don't know that I've ever heard of that before, but I'm intrigued.

Immitation is the best form of flatery.

John Brown (Brown Music Factory) does them, he is a truly skilled luthier located in Inver Grove Heights. This one came in at around 90% less than his though so I had to go with this one. Looking forward to getting it in the mail this week!

That black bass looks like a dark ages can opener.

John has the patent on the "frettedless" neck. Very cool idea. Very talented bass player.

Yeah I'm gonna swing this one by him for a setup and fret redress, as well as a "legal inquiry" lol I seriously doubt its anywhere near the magnitude of demo model he allowed me to play on... I'm pretty sure I heard my stomach rumble like three times before that sustain finally died lol but I feel I've gotten my money's worth anyways here is an update, I found a more "metal" bass!

and here is the thread,                       http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=429325                just in case someone here thinks they can build one before me, I pity the fool!!!
