What the hell? I've been looking for a singer for a couple months
now, and I have had zero luck. Didn't everyone want to be the
lead singer of the band??? I digress.

Anyway, I'm a guitar player here in Minneapolis. I've got a bass
player and another guitar player/drummer with me. We've got a
practice space. We've got some songs fleshed out, and they're
waiting for your inspired lyrical touch.

What's the deal with the band, you may ask? We're all so-so musicians
that like to play; we don't have big egos or delusions of grandeur and
we pay our practice space rent on time. As for the music, there's some
elements of Maiden-ish metal, straight rock, and melodic punk.

You may also wonder what we're looking for in a singer. Going by how
the music is starting to shape up, a singer who can hit notes higher than the average guy would
be the best fit (think Bruce Dickinson, Brian Johnson, Glenn Danzig rather than James
Hetfield, Tom Araya, Ian Mackaye), but if you're interested and you
think you've got a cool voice, drop an e-mail at antihero99_98@yahoo.com
and let's kick Minneapolis so hard in the fuck that it shits. I digress again.

Hey, what type of music do you guys play? I sing and play harmonica and I'm going to start learning guitar in April. Also, I'm a girl so I don't know if you guys would be into having a girl singer (?) Anyways, influences and how you feel about a girl singer. Just email. Thanks!        Meredith

hey. i didn't see your e-mail address in your post or in your profile... anyway, i did see some of your influences and i don't think you'd be interested in the type of music we're working on. it's sort of heavier, more rockin, than the stuff you listed. you know?

we don't have any objection to a girl singer though.

Uhhh I was just pointing out that this thread was created 4 years ago.  Does this mean I have a problem?

Well, for starters you are looking for MUSICIANS here.  Most of these folks are douchewads wannabes that have virtually no talent or experience but like to complain a lot as if they do.  Don't get me wrong, there are a few talented musicians who can really back it up- but on this board they are taken or retired in the vast majority of cases.

The good news is that there are a couple of actual musicians who sound availbale actually responding to you so you've hit Musicscene gold.  Try hitting those folks up to see what you get and if they are a good fit for what you're trying to do.  It also appears that their egos aren't as large as mine, so that has got to be a good thing.

If you strike out there, all is not lost.  Try checking out local bands and find a singer who is already in a band.  Then steal him/her away from that crappy band and bring them into your awesome band.  There is no shame in being a vulture in the music biz.

All in all it sounds like your band is paydirt for an aspiring singer.  You've got all the pieces in place and a good singer should love that scenario.  I wish you the best of luck in your search!

Somebody email stratocaster and let him know Ether has solved his problem in a short four years.  Now he can finally get the band together.

I like to come down out of my ivory tower once in a while to help others.  It's the least I can do.
