1. The House GOP voted overwhelmingly against a resolution in support of Motherhood in the run up to Mother's Day.
(actually the House GOP has decided to use the taxpayers dime to use every conceivable procedural tactic to stall any work being done and pretty much bring legislation in the House to a standstill. and oh yeah, David Vitter was cleared of his hooker scandal on a technicality while they were at it.)
2. Red & White Zubas.
Holy shit....
Seriously, Zubas?
Oh, and check out this little nugget of repub clothing line:
Pink tracksuits for women!
This reminds me of the British version of redneck, otherwise known as a chav:
I've got another one - John McCain is the presidential nominee and he takes a shit on the Republican platform.
Part 1:
I'm pretty sure they'll slap some depends on the old guy before propping him up at the convention just in case.
Oh that platform...
McCain is Bush-lite. It has very little to do with actual Republican Party ideals and lots to do with appeasing the outer fringe of the Right that for some reason the GOP still seems to feel is going help them win elections even as the rest of the country turns away from it and them.
Even the usually dependable evangelicals are starting to edge away from the GOP..
(and now you know how I felt in 1988. Dukakis? that's the best they could come up with? Seriously?)
pluce007: 3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%. Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen: 3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
Your math. You fail at it.
This, if its true, is an absolute plane wreck.

I'd would hate to be republican, imagine all the apologizing.
rost0031: Your math. You fail at it.
I think the fail begins with cut and pasting one of those dumbass emails that circulate to begin with.
It's chock-a-block with straw men....

Fair enough. I just wanted to point out the most obvious "facepalm moments".
Oh look. Another reason to be embarrassed if you're a republican. You don't support the troops. At least not enough to pass the GI bill for all those soldiers you sent to war.

I'm looking forward to when divisiveness is no longer trendy.

Yep, clearly a c&p. If you're going to spew statistics and claim they're facts, at least do the research yourself.
Then again, did anyone check to see how inaccurate these claims are? I suppose if one had the time, they could take the time to look.

I'm just glad that many of you remain on the right, had you defected I'd have put in for a transfer to maintain that balance.

You are seriously detached from reality if you think that McCain is appeasing the outer fringe of the Right. Like, completely detached. I guess that cap and trade concerning carbon emissions is a "fringe right wing" idea...so is McCain's stance on immigration....or his stance on campaign finance. Aside from his stance on taxes, which I feel is disingenuous, and his stance on the war on terror, it's really hard to find common ground with the guy even if you're a little bit right of center. And I know that people always talk about the "religious right" but it seems to me that a lot of the religious folk are leaning to the left.
Newman: people always talk about the "religious right" but it seems to me that a lot of the religious folk are leaning to the left.

Actually, I'm not convinced on this one, Newman. I think most social conservatives (i.e. the "religious right") will vote McCain even though they would have preferred Huckabee by a LARGE margin. Abortion, gay marriage, and allegiance to Israel trump all.
This election is gonna suck.
