i honestly can't come up with 2 more bands bands i even would listen to on my own time here.
Here's 3 -- Dander, the Blue Mollies and Little Man. I loved Jehovah's Shitlist! It's too bad they're done, that was a f--ng fun band to watch.
I know that there's some uncertainty as to whether or not Dander is still active, but when isn't there a bunch of uncertainty around them. Pete Rex, care to clear this up? At any rate, Shane is a great writer.
I think they are on deep, deep hiatus. I don't think the idea of Dander will ever die, so long as Shane is around, but it's just been hard for them to get a stable line-up. And now Jen is out for medical reasons for a while.

There are a bunch of really good local bands. I dig...
Stereoscope
Charlz Newman
Motion Pilots
Barfly
Kangaroo
Sunshine Behavior
Oceans (biased as I may be, they're great musicians).
And not because there's some sort of "bandwagon" on here (as some like to say), but I've really dug some of the recordings by:
All The Way Rider
Owen Sartori (really love the production and songwriting of his latest effort).
And those are merely ones I've come into contact with as of late. There are a lot of "good" bands that attract negative attention, such as
Drift Effect. They really did do a good job when we played with them. I personally don't consider their music "outdated", because EVERYBODY'S doing EVERYTHING right now. It's pretty much a free for all, and music just ends up being a mixture of what the bandmates are into anyways. Ultimately, the public shall decide the victors. They took a dig at my band for laying out some covers at a benefit show - but the establishment wanted that from us (along with originals we played), so it was unprofessional of them to do so. They should keep their arrogance in check. But time will teach them...and it's not like there are any hard feelings. It's just that they should be careful in situations like that. Could come back to bite 'em in the arse.
“It's called a hangover sweetie, and it's an unavoidable fact of life” - Homer Simpson
Theatre Of The Epilordean Hymenfall
Lorenzo--What benefit show was that? Are you sure it was someone in the band? It just seems weird that any of us would talk shit, especially about covers..at a benefit nonetheless... who cares break em out. I guess it doesn't matter--if it was someone in the band or someone associated with us it is still the same and we apologize profusely.
Yes, it was the lead singer, at the B.A.C.A. event - right before playing "Alive", by Pearl Jam...which was executed quite well, I might add. Anyways, I wouldn't call it "shit-talking" per se...but it did seem directed at us. It was something along the lines of "...guess we'll play a cover", and it had a certain guess we'll stoop down to the last band's level tone. And the thing is, we would've only played one or two covers at that show - but they asked us (mid-performance) to put on an extended set. I think I might even have the napkin that the promoters wrote it on. :)
Anyways, I appreciate your response - I can see that it wasn't directed at us (if you're the lead singer), and all is definitely well.
Why do you keep old napkins?
