Sounds like someone that listens to a LOT of Pearl Jam backed by a pedestrian local band from the midwest.

Its bad enough that Pearl Jam is shoved down our throats on the only big rock station in town like a top 40's hit band from today, they dont need to regurgitate that stuff too. But hey, I'm just one person and I am sure other people like it and the Pearl Jam rant might have been overly negative, but I wish the best to them, as i do all local musicians, just not my cup of tea, I was playing with barbies and polly pockets when this style was popular so i missed the boat on this one...

They are undoubtably influenced by Pearl Jam but many people may view that as a good quality considering Pearl Jam is still popular to this day. I don't know what GOOTS means by a pedestrian local band, i'm assuming it is some kind of Slam con sidering that is this sights MO.

Thanks for the opinions. Are there more?

I may check it out in the next couple of days.  I listened to some other material before and thought it had too much of a Pearl Jam vibe, but I'll take a listen before passing final judgement.

Immitation is the best form of flatery.

Read through the reviews of other local acts, is it just me or have there been more good than bad?

Just because DE wasn't his cup of tea, doesn't mean he's trying to fit an MO that is only in your head.

Agreed I am just making a statement.  There are reviews that are across the board on this sight, good bad, otherwise. Just being argumenative. What fun would it be if I wasn't?

More opinions are appreciated.

I don't need reinforcement that Drift Effect is good, because they are good. I want your opinions of the acoustic disc. That is why I started the thread. To this point no one has said Drift Effect was bad, just that they remind a couple of people of Pearl Jam, and the 90's grunge vibe. Not a bad thing in the grand scheme of things considering Pearl Jam will be in the rock and roll hall of fame. How about individual song critque, taking the time to listen to each song and what the lyrics say, and the dynamics of the music. That is what we want critique on. Not that they are influenced by Pearl Jam and other aspects of modern rock. Thats a given, goes without saying. Part of this record was recorded live and the other parts in studio how do those songs compliment eachother?

Just to be clear, my review was not good.  There's no need for me to elaborate beyond my initial review.  "Pedestrian" sums it up; get a dictionary.

Okay, I think we need questionaires to go along with each song.  Cooper is really good at coming up with relevent questions.

1.  How  does track 2 make you feel 2 minutes 12 seconds?

I can't do it as well as Cooper.

Seriously though, you need to take all criticism well if you are asking for it, the moment you start criticizing the critics you baited then your thread will end up like this one right here.

Not to mention you may be causing negative bias with your arrogance ( YES I'M TAKING NOTES)
