A fat man never goes to bed hungry.
I agree with everyone that Ace and the band sounded great. I was very impressed with how well Ace sang live. Of course seeing his fingers from 10 feet away playing the riffs and solos I know by heart was great. His guitar playing was spot on.
The guitar amps had no logos but looked like Marshalls and Ampeg for bass. Ace played some great Les Pauls all night.
The band kicked ass. The drummer and bass player were great lead vocalists also. The ryhthm guitar player also sang back ground vocals.
The sound is never perfect when you are so close to the stage but I could hear everything great. It was a good crowd of all ages.
Some favorites of the night. Rip It Out drum and guitar solo sections. Parasite, Strange Ways, Deuce, Shock Me. There were no new songs. Ace is working on a solo album but still needs to record a few more before the album is done.
Here is some info I found about the band.

The Band:°Ace FrehleyHe needs no introduction.Anthony EspositoBass player. Anthony has been working with Ace (and Anton) on his new album for some time and was once a member of Lynch Mob. He gets to sing "Strange Ways" during the set.Derrek HawkinsGuitarist. Derrek's played with bands including Stabbing Westward, Aerial Love Feed, and Closer.Scot CooganScot has played drums for a diverse group of artists (during session work, including Sinead O'Connor and Vanilla Ice!), but was a member of Nikki Sixx's Brides of Destruction and Stephen Pearcy's Rat Bastards projects. He sings "Love Gun" during the set!
I forgot that outside I ran into the old guitar player Charlie Johnson for Martyr AD. Had a great time making the last Martyr record with them. He said it was his band Bastard Saint that opened for Ace. He sang lead vocals and guitar. I was busy BSing with everyone I was running into to watch them close enough.

Someone told me the soundguy that night was Aerosmiths sound guy in the 70's!
Gotta agree, haven't seen Ace play like that since we were all a lot younger...
