Anyone go see Ace?

I totally forgot about the show, unfortch. I totally wanted to go. Whoops!

Did anyone go? How was it? I know it wouldn't exactly be innovation 101 there, but I bet it was a great rock show at the perfect venue, and that's why I'm mad I missed it.

 Isn't this next week?  There was just an article in the Strib today.

Ha, you're right.

The article in the Strib was written yesterday, and it said the show was "Thursday" (no specific date given), so I just put 2 & 2 together. Obviously, my math skills need some work.

I'll be going May 8th!

Feh. Just realized I'll be in Fort Worth for work that day, so I can't go even if I wanted to.

Snowblind, I want you, Rock Soldiers, a blues tune and a couple of others. ace just ripped it up during Snowblind too! Hells ya!

Apparently, sobriety agrees with Ace.

He kicked ass.

The last time I saw him that he was even near as good was on the Dynasty tour (third row).

But I have to say, fuck the FOH soundman, because he shoulda been a helluva more dry with the mix.  All thru the set, there was a wall of short reverb that obscured all the details, especially the lead guitar.  What do we go to see Ace for? LEAD GUITAR, DAMMIT!!!  I had a good spot just to the left of the FOH mix point, and I was really disappointed in the mix that dude made.  I have heard so many better mixes thru the exact same system that this guy used, and all he did was obscure the whole set with a wall of slapback or short reverb, and Ace was playing his ass off!

Great show, lousy sound man.

Still well worth the ticket!!

agreed, and there was a LOT of feedback. some sounds it sound like it rang the whole song. that guy has GOT to be deaf. even during soundcheck it was ringing like crazy. maybe they just had the monitors up louder then normal. maybe its Ace thats deaf now???? i mean they had FOUR floor wedges just for Ace!

 That show was way better than I had expected. I wasn't dissapointed for a second!

As a bonus, I even got a pick.

I loved it.

I don't think I've genuinely smiled that much at a show in years.

Also, Capn Beyond and I talked about pork barrel politics for awhile.
