Trends, they have been around for a long, long time, ever since the first cave man went "Ah ah ah ah."  trends persued.  Now a days trends have been something to look down upon, and that's trendy.  The thing is, well, the problem is, is if there is one, or if this is just a natural progression of evolution, is this,  every one contradicts themselves making anything they say meaningless.  So when one opens their mouth they feel that they have something of relative importance to say, but what usually persues is ignorance, and stupidity, and anything else.  Now I do not pretend to be a God of humans, because I am, but the things is, I take music very seriously, and I feel that people are making a mockery of it.  My initial reaction is take down these people, and make a mockery of their lives.  I'm not perfect, in fact I don't even know if I spelt half of these words right (horrible speller), but I can see the differences between meaningful, and meaningless.

I may be too tired to comprehend this thread, but i didnt really understand it. Is the message "Trends are apart of the evolution" or is it "trends are diluting the substance of music today"???

Well, thanks for not adding a Meaningless reply.  The only reason why I put that trends could be apart of the evolution is because I choose to recognize that it's possible that trends aren't all that bad, but when when trends start dilute the substance of music, as you said, I think it becomes a problem, and I believe when things become problems that they should be dealt with in ways to fix the problem.

Sincerely,

O I C!!!!!

I feel when a few bands hook on a trend and play and sell it well, it is definitely a good thing. But when countless bad or more ametur bands saturate the market for that trend it really gets annoying. I have heard so many high school or college "i think i am hardcore" singers blow there voice out singing wrong trying to impress there friends, and I feel it just created more dreamer and a crap load a bad screamers in the process. But then again, if they are having fun, to each there own.

Music dillution only exists if you think it does.  Meaning you are part of the problem and thus should be dealt with.

To each their own...The problem is, is not to each their own.  This kind of shit music is forced on all of us.  I do not think it's good when a meaningless band becomes mainstream, It adds to that much more meaninglessnessnessness.  The only thing that this is good for is the record execs,  I wouldn't mind making millions of years spreading meaninglessness, not if I got my cock sucked every morning while I had breakfast in bed.

But what if youre a listener?

I guess if you keep buying into the band that suck along with the bands that are good youre not helping the situation,

good point

Well Todd everything should be delt with, just in different ways, and yes meaning exists in the mind, but so does music.  Now we don't deny music exists givin  the understanding that it is just really waves of atoms hitting our ear drums in pattern the our brain can comprehend.
