If anyone has seen the famous picture of me that GG likes to throw up off his Toddah Fansite you will notice that I have a shaved head in that picture.  However, in the years following that I have grown out my hair to a more classic look.

Well today I decided that it was time to bring back the shiney dome  so I went down to the local Great Clips over lunch($7.99 haircuts til the 21st BTW) and had them remove it all.

My only regret?

Having to deal with everyone in the office needing to make a comment, which is why I did it over lunch, that way everyone is given only a half day to get it out of their system.

My boss asked why I did it and I said, "I lost a bet, I bet you couldn't go a whole day without minding your own business."

4 more hours of hell.

awesome line. why is it that when women get haircuts, their friends go apenuts over how great it looks, but when a guy does something like shave the mind, they think something's wrong?

"what happened to you?"

i fell victim to male pattern baldness, so i shaved it all off, and haven't paid for a haircut in about 10 years. one weekend when i got a haircut (for work, moving from the warehouse to the office) i noticed how f-ing bad my hair really was. i spent more money on styling product over the next 6 months than i ever had. finally i sed 'f it' and shaved it down to the wood and have been happy ever since. my 9 year old has never seen me with hair. we show the kids pics of me playing when i had hair to the middle of my back, and they don't believe it's me.

I just did it because I run faster.

Actually today is full of me coming up with clever repsonses so I don't go insane repeating myself.

Like, " I had to draw attention away from mustard stain on my pants."

or "I joined the Brittney Spears fan club"

or "I'm on the run"

or "I went to get pomade and that was $15 then I saw haircuts were only $8"

Last time I shaved my head, I relished when people would exclaim 'Hey! You got a haircut!'

Then I'd grab my head and go 'OH MY GOD! WHAT THE FUCK!!!? WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN!?'

Gordabega:
haven't paid for a haircut in about 10 years.

In 1 year of shaving my head, I estimate my haircut cost savings at right around $350.  And that's including depreciation on my $30 clippers from Target.

Ha! I know the feeling. I went from this and this, to this, and that was pretty annoying when I went into work that next day. While partying at home, I was dared that I wouldn't shave my head, and when I said if it turns from a dare to a bet, it'd happen. And it happened - $100 was all it took. I was getting sick of it anyway, and Malmstrom cut his hair off a few months prior (which was shocking at the time) so I said why the shit not? I've since grown it out shoulder length, then had it shaved for the past four years or so, and now have bangs nearing my brow. I'll inevitably shave it again, and have to go through the whole fuckin' process again with people who don't know my propensity to be a bit extreme with the haircuts.

At least I won't have the semi-permanent sunburn streak where my part was. Too many outdoor rock shows and Apple River camping expedishes around the turn of the century rendered me tattooed for the longest time. That sucked.

I hate paying someone stupid amounts of money (plus tip! But I already went over that in a different thread...) for a goddamn boy's haircut. Boys should have reduced haircut rates, unless they're either metrosexual or homosexual. Seriously. The cuts I go in for are the simplest ever. So yeah, cutting the hair myself rools. Except when I'm doing the very last cut of the clipper's lifespan. That usually doesn't end well. Time to bust out the hat and go to the store for a new one PRONTO when that happens.
