Youn guys already have the protools set up at the space....And they guy that knows how to use it...What's wrong with this idea? At least to get some stuff down and give to other players for reference and to show you are for real.

I second that. Also, it was a benefit concert. Which really touched me in a personal way.

all i have to say is I'm glad someone posted All Things Must Pass. real talk: that's the best beatles solo joint by FAR and a lot of those songs were songs he had during the Beatles lifespan but they got left off of Beatles shit because of Paul and John. other than that, i hope everyone can find a band they like and enjoy playing in. and Cloud 9 is a better record than whatever shit McCartney was putting out at that point.

Yeah...nothing like the organic nature of finding drum loops, playing along, editing, rewriting, and starting over with the next drum loop. My ex-bandmates will tell you that I have no patience or desire to work in these conditions. I want to simply sit down with a drummer who can lay a 4-on-the-floor and sense when the damn changes come around. You don't get that kind of cooperation from a damn computer. And I ain't Trent Reznor.

I'm not saying that you need to start writing electornic of industrial music here, instead I am saying that you are laying out a model of what you are looking to do with a full band.  What better way to attract the righttype of musicians then with a working model of your vision?

No offense but sitting around waiting for others isn't a great direction either and sampling drums sure beats the hell out of not haveing any drums at all.

The thing is you don't have that drummer.

Why don't you spend more time coming up with your own ideas and less trying to be an ass.

Of course for Octo and myself with the Crime Novels our bass player is also a drummer, so in terms of demoing stuff out we'll have no problems accomplishing that, but we can't play shows right now.

 So apparently, at this time, you are the one who should take said advice but I'm sure my day will come.

I say get to or keep on demoing, hand them out to as many people as possible, and be patient. 

Whatever you do however do not stop working on the project.  A high level of dedication to a project no matter how adverse the conditions is an attractant.

I actually agreed, for the most part, with your suggestion.  I think the second time you mentioned it you came off with a "if you don't take my suggestion, you're obviously an idiot" vibe.

Actually the post wasn't aimed at  either of you in the first place, I was addressing Octos reservations.  I posted a suggestion and he responded by highlighting the issue of cost, I repsonded with how to work around that, his second was the lack of that human quality and I responded with a "it's better then nothing response".  I don't remember either of you being a part of the exchange?  Sorry, next time I will include you more.

The last message stated the problem as being more an issue playing live than anything and NOW that I better understand the issue I have changed my direction.
