One of my buddies showed them to me a month ago or so and I can't stop watching them...fuckin hilarious.  The most beautiful girl in the room is by far my favorite tune they do...and the contrived conversation between Jenny and a guy in the park is fantastic as well!

No way is it over-rated.  I suspect you just don't get the humor.  These guys are HILARIOUS.

Oh I get the humor, and it is somewhat funny...it's just that I have had several people tell me it's so funny that I will defecate within milliseconds of hearing them...and I didn't. It's a bit of a let down.

So what is this? A TV show? A youtube phenomenon? Your second cousins that everyone's fucked? I've never heard of this.

Thanks for ruining my LIFE.

It inspired me to write a song though. It's called "While You Were Telling Me About Flight of the Conchords, I Got Stabbed in the Head by a Puerto Rican."

Last night at the Orpheum.  It was good stuff

I haven't seen so many douchebags in one place in a really long time.  Possibly the most irritating crowd since Jesus Camp at the Lagoon.

They're opener Arj, BArker was actually better than the Conchords.

I've got a friend that has been force feeding me these guys and she just DIES laughing.  Well she doesn't exactly have the greatest sense of humor in the world so I can understand why she thinks they're funny.....I do not.  OVER RATED!

I enjoy this review snippet I found:

"But after a little more exposure and some time spent listening to The Distant Future (Sub Pop), I was forced to admit these guys, Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie (of some New Zealand indie rock band fame) are really funny. In “Business Time,” Clement explains why “tonight’s the night” he and his girlfriend are going to have sex, and it’s because it’s Wednesday night, and Wednesday is the night they typically have sex. See? Funny. No, do you really need me to explain it?"

A friend has borrowed me season one on dvd. I made it through one episode and haven't had the desire to watch any further yet.

If I were to watch another episode, are there any specific ones that stand out? I'm willing to get it another shot.

I don't think the TV show is as funny as the music and the music videos.

I own the DVD's and I lked it but I could see where some may not.  It has it's moments but I suspect season 2 to be funnier.

Watch season 1 of the Simpsons once, and then compare it to today.

I don't know if anyone listens to "Sound Opinions" on the Current on Sunday afternoons.

Great show done by Chicago Public Radio with Chicago music critics Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot... they reviewed the Flight of the Conchords album last week and it was definitely a "split".... seems these Conchords have many raving fans, and many people who just don't get what all the fuss is a about.

I've never listened to the tunes or watched the show... but I figured this was my "in" to recommend this fantastic radio PRO-grum.

Back to the debate.

Wow.  I just watched some of this stuff on youtube.  I was kinda hoping it would be at least mildly amusing.

No
