A lot has changed in opera houses since the first production of "The Fortunes of King Croesus" in 1711 in Hamburg's Theater-am-Gänsemarkt. For one thing, modern audiences don't play cards during performances. This weekend, the Minnesota Opera and England's Opera North present the U.S. premiere of the 297-year-old composition. Please leave your deck of cards at home.
