Riffing on the notion that we all have outsize ideas of how large Manhattan actually is because of the population density, constant activity, etc., Jason Kottke inserts the island of Manhattan next to various other cities for comparison. It's pretty interesting; above, Manhattan drifts next to San Francisco. I don't know why, but in all these images, Manhattan looks to me like some kind of invading dreadnought. It's the city-pirate life for us, yar.
