Photos by Nilina Mason-CampbellThree recent recipients of Pitchfork recommendations rolled into Portland's Backspace last night-- presently redubbed "Barackspace" on account of an art exhibit running right now that focuses on the Democratic presidential hopeful. Brooklyn's High Places (who, in the interest of full disclosure, include the sister of a former Pitchfork staffer), Baltimore's Ponytail, and Portland's own Grouper brought a similar message of hope with them: hope that good music will prevail, such as that found on these acts' respective 2008 releases: High Places, Ice Cream Spiritual, and Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill.High Places and Ponytail have a few more dates together before the former heads off to Europe, while the latter eases across the country en route to CMJ.High PlacesPonytailGrouper
