Dizzee, Four Tet, White Williams, Bonde Play Underage

Man, do I ever feel bad for the dude who turns 19 on August 7. The second-ever Underage Festival goes down August 8 in London's Victoria Park, and if you've ever blown 19 candles off your birthday cake, you're pretty much shit outta luck.

See, many of the Underage organizers are kids themselves, and, sick and tired of being barred from shows for not being old enough, they decided to make sure each and every attendee of their shindig is between the ages of 14 and 18 (inclusive). One pauses a bit at the logic of barring even younger folks from the lineup whilst making some sort of statement against the practice of age discrimination. But hey, somebody's gotta keep those wily eight year olds away from the punchbowl.

Though the lineup's chock full of fresh young talent, the age restriction doesn't necessarily apply to the day's performers. Dizzee Rascal, Four Tet, White Williams, Bonde do Rolê, Foals, Sons & Daughters, the Count and Sinden, Wild Beasts, the Horrors, Mystery Jets, the Rascals, Those Dancing Days, Gallows, Glasvegas, Good Shoes, Florence and the Machine, the Maccabees, DJ Tim Burgess (The Charlatans), and many many others will make their cases to the future world leaders in early August.
